actually on you colouring you should think a bit about the lighting, think about which part is lighter and which part is covered by shadow,so that you can give the picture a sense of form and makes it look solid.

Nawh,I'm pretty much a beginner myself.You should check animepaper,there's a lot of guys there who are good at colouring,I learned from those guys myself.
